Interesting she talked a lot of sense and in industry the appraisal situation can be one of the most difficult for the person being appraised to be open to both praise or criticism and the person carrying it out to be the same. Too many targets set in industry are for the individual to achieve personal goals, which are important, but so is the team.
Found this interview very interesting, particular the point about you need to actually need to be interested in the person, to start your “supporting relationship†with them.
