New business event for Humber region is set to attract hundreds & help local organisations grow 3rd November 9am start!

Members of the Humber region’s business community are welcomed to attend a brand new conference in Hull, which aims at helping local organisations to grow and prosper.

The Humber Expo 2010 – which will run from 9am to 4pm and for which entry is free – Richard Moorhouse, business manager at The Freedom Centre, a thriving community and events venue is the idea man behind it all.
Having attended countless business expos and conferences himself in the past, he saw the potential of launching a Humber-wide networking and support event for business people, which would be about far more than simply selling products and services.

That’s why 100s of delegates are set to meetup at the Preston Road-based venue, in East Hull, on Wednesday, November 3rd, to take advantage of the genuine economic advice that will be available from the 40 exhibitors and other features on the day.

The focal point of the event will be the keynote speakers that can be seen throughout the day, including Lisa Clifford, who is a master practitioner of neuro linguistic programming and hypnosis, trained by Paul McKenna and Richard Bandler.
Whether it’s building confidence within teams, working with directors in a one-to-one level or inspiring excellence in business, Lisa is renowned for her expertise in adding a positive and empowering dimension to life. Lisa is also an advanced firewalking instructor, a skill she uses to help people develop self belief.

In addition, the crowds will be able to hear from Andrew Chubb, executive headteacher at Archbishop Sentamu Academy, which is one of 17 schools in Hull being reconstructed and remodelled as part of Hull’s ‚£465m Building Schools for the Future programme. Archbishop Sentamu, based adjacent to The Freedom Centre, will be the first faith sponsored academy in the city and will boast a five storey entrance, encapsulating a chapel and will be seen from miles around. The building will also have a 300-seater community theatre.

Two free speed networking sessions will take place on the day at 11am and 2pm, with a free lunch provided for all those who take part.

“I am confident that the event is going to be a huge hit in its first year,” said Mr Moorhouse. “The response we have had from both potential exhibitors and delegates has already been overwhelming and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the organisations who are really getting behind the Humber Expo.

“The expo is designed to be a non-profit making event, simply aimed at bringing business people together in a setting where they can benefit from each other’s expertise, learn something new from our keynote speakers and walk away with valuable business support from the exhibitors that will be there on the day.

“I am hoping that the Humber Expo is so successful this year that it becomes an annual event, potentially even touring other venues across the region in future years.”

The event’s principal partner is Grow, an employment-related project commissioned by Hull City Council and its strategic partners. Grow aims to help unemployed people in Hull gain skills and long term jobs, and help employers develop their business by providing them with the right staff. In addition, the event is being supported by Cobus, Prontaprint, Business Link, and the venue itself, The Freedom Centre.
